The prostate is a gland that is located just below the bladder.  The glad surrounds a portion of the urethra, the tube through which urine passes from the bladder to the penis.  As part of a man’s reproductive system, the prostate produces some of the fluid that makes up semen.Prostatectomy surgical removal of the prostate may also be performed using laparoscopic techniques.  This diagram shows a reconstruction of the bladder neck, after laparoscopic prostate removal.

The urinary bladder is the organ situated at the lower part of the abdomen which stores urine until it is voided.
